How to decide if fast track is worth it
- Fast track buys you a shorter security queue — it doesn't skip check-in, bag drop, passport control or boarding, so build in time for those too.
- The saving is biggest at peak times (early mornings, school holidays, Friday evenings) when standard lanes are longest. Off-peak, the normal queue may already be short — so you'd pay to save very little.
- This tool values the time saved at whatever you tell it your hour is worth. Fast track also cuts the stress and the risk of missing your flight, which is harder to price but real if your connection is tight.
- Prices are usually cheaper booked in advance online than bought on the day at the airport, and some airports only sell a limited number of slots per time band.
- Always check your free entitlements first (premium cabin, airline status, credit card) before buying — see the reminder above.
- Earning points on travel spend? Compare the best UK travel credit cards — some include fast track or lounge access built in.
